It’s very tempting to write off all European politicians as either total control freaks, or chancers riding the gravy train for as long as they can, in order to avoid having to work for a living. But there are some decent, morally sane people out there. Here’s an interesting few minutes of video from the European Coalition for Israel. See for yourself what people like Hannu Takkula, Barry Madlener and Timothy Kirkhope have to say about the threat posed by a nuclear Iran.
Two students at St. Andrews are before Sheriff Charles Macnair QC at Cupar Sheriff Court today. The two men face charges of “behaving in a racially aggravated, threatening and abusive manner” towards an exchange student from America. The ancient hatred is alive and well in the frozen north, it would appear.
Update: Paul Donnachie has been found guilty today by Sheriff Macnair. Sentence has been deferred for background reports. Mr. Donnachie has also been expelled from St. Andrews. The university had investigated the incident, but withheld their findings so as not to prejudice the case. The second man, whose charge was not proven at the Sheriff Court today, has been suspended from St. Andrews for one year, and excluded from university halls of residence.
